MP3
The universal standard. Works on every device, app, and platform. Lossy compression — great for music, podcasts, and distribution. Typical size: 3–10 MB per song.
WAV
Lossless, uncompressed audio. Best for recording, editing, mixing, and archiving. Works in all professional audio software. Large files — typically 30–50 MB per song.
OGG Vorbis
Open-source format, royalty-free. Widely used in games and web streaming. Similar quality to MP3 at smaller sizes. Not supported by all devices (especially older ones).
AAC / M4A
Apple's format, used in iTunes, iPhone, and iPad. Better quality than MP3 at similar bitrates. Best for Apple ecosystem. Not always playable on older Android or Windows.
